Gyu-kaku Japanese Bbq

The service here for ayce was bad. They basically withhold your order for 2 hours, limiting the amount of food.1) Food was slow to come.2) By the time we wanted to place our 3 round, they started calling last call.3) 10 mins after placing out last call order, our waitress came out to advise us that the order was held because they don't think we can finish. We assured her we can finish and would be willing to pay if we have leftovers.4) Another 10 mins past, the manager came to advise us that the order was still held as they don't think we can finish. We just went for a summerlicious lunch at Gyu Kaku it was very nice. Relaxing space and attentive service. Chose a variety of items from their summerlicious menu and really enjoyed some of the different meats. Marinated very nicely with different hint of flavours. My favourites were the angus beef rib, New York steak and kalbi chuck rib. Spicy cabbage salad had a good crunch. Their green tea ice cream was very smooth.We would go back and try some of the other items on their regular menu soon!

The food is great. But they should spread out the way they bring out the food. They bring all the beef at once. Then afterwards they bring other stuff like chicken and shrimp. You get tired of the beef. They also don't easily substitute. We asked to have one bowl of rice and one bowl of garlic noodles, instead of two bowls of noodles, and they refused. They also don't have vegan or dairy-free dessert options.

Very nice place, high ceiling, spacious. Food is good, fresh, friendly staff. Very neat bbq stove cook your own meat, shrimps, and vegetable. All in alk, good restaurant.Parking: Good location, shortly off 401 Victoria Park

We went during their Lunch special and Happy Hour. Everything was super delicious.We had a wide variety of beef pork chicken dishes!My favorites were the Toro Beef and the Bacon Chips.
