Gyu-kaku Japanese Bbq

We recently visited this Japanese BBQ for the first time and were absolutely impressed. We made reservations in advance, which we highly recommend, as it ensured we didn’t have any issues with seating. As we are accustomed to Korean BBQ, we found this experience quite similar since you cook your own food on a grill at your table. Most of the meats come unmarinated, but there are three different dipping sauces available for you to enjoy. The portion sizes were generous, and the side dishes were excellent. Even though the restaurant is in a touristy area, the food was surprisingly good. We ordered a total of six types of meat, which was more than enough for just the two of us. The meat wasn't overly salty, and the marinade was really flavorful—much better than typical Korean BBQ. However, I didn't enjoy the Coco Mojito cocktail; it was quite unpleasant.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was both high in quality and generous in portion size for the price. They also offered a good selection of gluten-free options. The atmosphere was lively and bustling, but the staff remained very attentive throughout our visit. I would definitely recommend making reservations.

Food was great, you need to be careful not to order too much, but many of the set menus offer good portions. It's a little hot, but hard to work that around open flame in the middle of the table. Happy Hour pricing is a good deal Réservez une table maintenant

Exceptional service with a smile. Lousy food prep. Kitchen staff needs proper training to prepare meat for BBQ. Lopsided cuts. Couldn’t determine if the prep cooks are cutting corners to save or incompetent.

It was a new experience and we loved it! Our server was very helpful with it being our first time and our food was phenomenal. Definitely recommend it for the experience alone!

The service was outstanding, and the quality of the meat was superb. It’s a fun spot for family outings or a date night. The value is fantastic, especially for Hawaii!

Walking distance in Waikiki for BBQ. Food quality is nice and we will visit again.
