Long story quick, had a business meeting all the way in Scarborough and on the way back me and a few colleagues decided to go for sushi, this place popped up in my search for a high rating place nearby so we took a chance. We usually enjoy this place when we dined in but on our recent experience we had ordered UberEats as a goodbye dinner. They had gotten our order mostly right but they had given us two orders of mixed tempura we did not order and did not give us one main we had ordered. That main was for the person going away.We called the restaurant to explain that our order was incomplete but they became defensive and just told us that it should be correct because they saw it packed. My office went to Hamaru Sushi for lunch. We ordered the Sushi Sashimi Lunch, Chicken Teriyaki Lunch, Udon Noodle, and a Dragon Roll. The Lunches come with soup and salad, but we didn't get salad. Instead we got spicy salmon hand-roll. The food: 6 out of 5 stars. The fish is super fresh. The portion is great! I can't even finish my Sushi Sashimi Lunch. We have been three times for lunch over the last month. On the first visit, we had the Kalbi+Tempura Combo and the Unagi Don+Tempura Combo. Both were delish. Very nice miso soup. On our next visit I tried the seafood udon soup. It was delish. On our next visit I tried the sashimi and tempura combo. Also nice. It has been generally quiet at lunch which is very nice. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but be patient. Service has been good on our visits, though friends went once and had terrible service. They have tables in the open area and shoji rooms for quieter space. For one of our visits we had a small child and the shoji room worked well.
Yes great sushi, but also great Korean food. Haedabop is a huge bowl of fresh chopped mixed fish and a variety of fresh vegetables. It is a popular order; I see it being delivered to many tables. Sushi offers generous portions of tasty rolls. Everything is delicious, service is great and the price is right.
