Japanese is still one of my favourite cuisines so when I found out that I was going for a Japanese dinner I was really excited. <br/ <br/ Almost as much as my lovely company. I met Phuong Tran, Gaik Kee Khoo and Joe K. I am grateful to the owner for accommodating my reservation for a party of ten last month, as there was a restriction on dine-in for only 10 people. I organized this intimate celebration for my wife's birthday, essentially making the restaurant exclusively ours for lunch. Penny, the owner, assigned four staff members to attend to us - 2 chefs and 2 wait staff. The service and food quality were exceptional. The restaurant consistently serves delicious food, and as a vegetarian, I have limited options but always find something that appeals to me. The tempura and fried lotus roots are particularly outstanding. However, what I appreciate most about this restaurant is the ambiance. The interior is carefully and artistically designed, with perfect dim lighting and beautiful wooden furniture. It's rare to find such great interior design in restaurants in Sunnybank! The food is also presented beautifully, like little works of art.
This is one of our go to Japanese favourites. The sashimi is always so fresh and having a few vegetarians with us this visit and there were plenty of tasty options for them. Highly recommended and you can't go wrong if you feel like fresh sushi.
Great overall experience. Loved the beef tataki the best, only comment was that the slices were a little too thick. The chicken karage was a little disappointing..too oily but kudos to the serving size!<br/
