I've been going to Hansens for well over 20 years. I've spent thousands of dollars on their Incredible cakes. I do give their cakes a five star in fact I would give them 10 stars however, the woman that works in the Tarzana store is so incredibly rude. She has zero concept of customer service, talks down to you, and has told us that she doesn't have time to answer questions on the phone. I cannot imagine that this is how a company would want their staff to treat customers. I've been ignoring this for quite a few years now, but I've hit a boiling point. The service was outstanding. I placed my order a couple of months in advance over the phone, and Susan was incredibly helpful in ensuring I got exactly what I wanted. As a result, I’m a very happy customer. This was for my 30th birthday, so I treated myself a little, but it was absolutely worth it. The pictures really didn't capture just how beautiful and large this cake was. The atmosphere of the location is inviting, and it has a wonderful smell. On the day I picked up my cake, we also got some cupcakes.
What happened to Hansen's, the restaurant we've been visiting for 25 years? I accidentally gave it a one-star rating—how can I change that? I heard they sold the business, and if that's true, I wish I had known. The cake was soggy and lacked any flavor. Fortunately, Costco was still open, so I managed to salvage the birthday celebration with a delicious cake. I suppose all good things come to an end, just like with COVID. Also, if you don't have a mask, the worker inside will guide you outside.
These are the most delicious, beautiful, traditional cakes. I'm 60. My parents used Hansens for all my graduations, birthdays, Bat mitzvah, Sweet 16, etc. the Basketweave Cake is my favor. As tradition dictates I getting a Basket Cake for my niece Leah's wedding shower. Dependable and consistent are two adjectives to describe Hansens. Thank you very much for making my life. Ordered a cake for a baby sprinkle party. Cake cost around $220 in Fed 20 to 30 people. The cake was moist itself but a tad too sweet for my preference. I picked up the cake at 10:30, as soon as they open. It was ready to go and was a quick pick up, I greatly appreciate the service.
