Fast forward to yesterday (June 13, 2023), I bought three slices of that same cheesecake. I ate half of mine, and my daughter and granddaughter shared one, leaving the third slice untouched. To my disappointment, both of the slices we tried had a burnt taste due to over-roasted pecans (see photos). I called Harriet's today and asked to speak with a manager, but Robin informed me the manager was unavailable. I explained my problem and requested a refund, to which she agreed. This was around 11:07 a.m. Later, at about 12:57 p.m., I called back to ask if I could just receive half of the cost back to avoid making the 20-mile trip for a full refund. Ive heard a lot of good things about Harriett's and told myself if I ever get back in that area, I need to stop in.. well, I was going to be in the LAX area and Im glad I stopped by.First off, the location is a small hole in the wall place in a busy strip mall. I had to park on the street and walk over to the place... First thing I noticed...a line out the door..literally. I jumped in, and when I got closer I eyed the menu of the slices they were serving today.. Banana Pudding immediately caught my eye and so there it was..No place to really eat inside, so I walked back to my vehicle and ate it there. This location has been here a long time. It is operated by an African American family. They are very friendly and they answer any questions that you have about the Cheesecakes. SMALL lobby. I just drove 20 miles for cheesecake, but unfortunately, they don't currently have any slices available and are only taking orders for New Year's. I should have called ahead—my mistake. So, no cheesecake for me. A couple of suggestions: make sure to call ahead, place your order for the cake, and be aware that they might only accept cash. We drive hours for this cheesecake. It's so worth it. The praline is our favorite, and we get a slice each as we do not want to share, hahaha. If you are a cheesecake person, and I am not, then you need to treat your taste buds to this wonderful spot and bite into a slice. Have at it and enjoy.
My buddy got the Carmel praline and let’s just say I know what I’m getting for my next one. Best cheesecake I’ve ever had I can’t wait to go back!! This Oreo Cheesecake was so pretty when I got it! I was way too hungry to take a picture of it but here is the aftermath of my chest day treat!
