Harsens Island Schoolhouse Grille

We visited the School House Grill for a birthday celebration. The owners transformed an old primary school into a charming restaurant. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the owners, who shared the fascinating history of the school. The dining areas are thoughtfully decorated to preserve some of that history. While we didn’t eat much as the food had already been prepared, what we had was quite good. The staff was extremely friendly, and we had a delightful experience overall. This is definitely a place we would love to visit again!

The food was fantastic and the service was very friendly. The super greens and broccoli salad were outstanding. We also enjoyed the best barbecue we've had in years, and it remained consistently excellent during our visits over the past few weeks.

This place was recommended during the camping at Algonac SP. Our whole family loved it! The fish tacos were delish, the strawberrymule is amazing and our server was great!

Charming spot located in the heart of the island. It's an old schoolhouse that serves delicious food.

Everything was perfect. Try the chowder, best around. Will be back as often as possible.
