This place is very charming, although it is a bit small. It's clean and has a lovely aesthetic, making it a great spot to study or hang out longer. However, due to its limited space, they tend to bring the check as soon as you're done eating, as there are always people waiting for a table. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was delicious—I tried the Spicy Avo Grilled Toast and the Lox Benedict, both of which were exceptionally well-prepared. I also appreciated that they offered vegan and vegetarian options. Hatch44 is small, homey and a great place for a weekend brunch. The staff is friendly, food affordable and as advertised and definitely delicious. My only suggestion would be if you plan on visiting to please arrive early, this spot is very popular. Myfriend and I arrived at 1 PM on a Saturday, waited about 25 minutes to get in due to how busy they were, and waited aboutanother 30 minutes for the food to arrive. It's understandable as it's a small restaurant and everywhere is short-staffed, butthe wait could feel frustrating for someone who may be hangry. Our server Gabriella was amazing! She was warm, friendly, professional, and efficient. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! I had the Chicken Scoop, which featured a fried chicken breast on a fluffy waffle, topped with a sunny-side-up egg and incredible bacon jam, served with a side of berries. My husband opted for the Farmers Platter, and my daughter loved the Lox Benedict. The coffee and cappuccino were delightful, too! Although we were initially told the wait would be 40 minutes, we ended up waiting only 15. The food arrived quickly, fresh, and piping hot! The atmosphere was fantastic as well. I’ve ordered online from Hatch 44 many times, but went in person 1st time yesterday with my kid. We ordered the veggie omelette with coffee for me and cheese toast with strawberry lemonade for the kid. The food was good, but have 2 small complaints the lemonade (ordering for the 1st time) was too sour and the bread used in cheese toast (children’s menu) is little hard for little ones. A big for our waitress, she was amazing and polite. Never pushed to ordered fast or hover over us to eat fast. She periodically checked on us and yet ensured we were comfortable. This place is located comfortably in downtown Metuchen with ample street parking (in nearby streets).

The Birria Grilled Cheese is a truly amazing dish—each bite is full of flavor! If you're a fan of coffee, you must try the Coffee Cream Toast; it's remarkable. This is a perfect place for brunch dates, outings with friends, celebrations, and more! Our waitress, Jasmine, was incredibly kind and attentive; she recommended some fantastic dishes and treated us with such warmth. I also had the pleasure of meeting Andrea, the owner, who was charming and shared fascinating details about the restaurant. I can’t wait to go back!
I really adore this restaurant! It's incredibly cozy, and the staff is warm and welcoming. The food is consistently excellent, too! I visited a few days ago, and Tina was our server. She went above and beyond to ensure that my mother-in-law, my aunt, and I were all satisfied. If you haven't checked this place out yet, you definitely should, and make sure to ask for Tina!
This is my favorite place! From the decor to the coffee, the atmosphere and fresh food, everything is just perfect for brunch. Our waiter, Tyler, was kind, funny, and very personable. Hats off to the chef and whoever designed the menu for elevating brunch to another level. You absolutely have to try the Oh Honey Parfait!
