a long, narrow and twisted road that would be problematic if it hit something on the other wise. everything was good if not especially unforgettable (maybe after a long day that arrived after a long trip to dinner, had a lie) and. the service was friendly and efficient. you can come back without qualifications, and there is the impression that there would be a more pleasant place to stay. the terrace must be beautiful at a warm evening, although the view over the city might be more an idyll if it does not contain factory kamine. I know that this review has too many subjoins, but that probably reflects me more than home on the mountain.
The Haus am Berg has an excellent kitchen with a sensible menu, and the food and drink side of the business is unimpeachable. The major snag is the terrace which looks west, over a panorama of France: in the evening the sun is in your...face, and for many people this is unbearable. The Haus has parasol umbrellas, but these are not positioned well and as the sun sinks in the west, you will get a blinding glare from it. We have dined here several times but for some reason on this occasion the reception was, well, a little hostile. Maybe we just caught them on a bad evening.
The meals at this gasthaus are truly praiseworthy. Breakfasts provide a variety of fruit, cereals, German meats, cheeses, breads and preserves (many homemade). The dinner menu is comprehensive, so we settled for the tagesmenu (menu of the day) on 2 occasions. This was a 3-course...meal with appetiser, extremely well presented and tasty and different each time. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone that appreciates fine dining at a reasonable price, prepared by and under the supervision of the owner, Peter Zimmermann
dinner with friends. very pleasant dining experience. my wife had mushroom soup, which was excellent, and a very fine calf cut with hand made spaetzle. I had a fresh green salate, beautifully made, and from local cork meat, a fillet mignon, perfectly rare and. zartel. they have a wide range of wine and drinks. the terrace is really nice, but the weather was uncooperative. all in all a very pleasant repast.

There is no better gastronomical place in Oberkirch to combine savour and view. It is an absolut must on a warm spring or summer day when the sun is shining. In winter you must sit inside where it is a little bit dark. The restaurant...with the little hotel is run by the family Peter Zimmermann. He offers a variety of exquisit meals of German, Italian and French origin. The service too is well.
This must be one of the best restaurants in the area, very good food,a lot of wine to choose from and a beautiful terrace mif the weather allows to sit outside. The owner cook has been learning in Waldhotel Gruner Baum, also a good...place to stay. The restaurant is not the cheapest but is worth the price. The restaurant is a little bit difficult to find , is at the end of a dead end street.
The restaurant is beautifully located just above the village at a mountain slope. Great view. We opted for local food (fish, beef and lamb dishes) and it was all very well prepared. Balanced dishes with an eye for detail and, more importantly, flavour. Good wine...list and attentive staff. Absolutely recommended!
they imagine: a nice warm summer evening, a terrace with incomparable views of the Rhine plain and the castle, more attentive but not intrusive service, delicious food (here filets made from grilled fresh fish) a good drop dry delicious wine ... heart, what they want, more it was just a great evening!

house a bar in the kitchen. the good souls from the house at the mountain and the service a great. I've been here for years and enjoy every stay.
