For lovers of good regional cuisine, the Hawwerkasten is a must. The food is hessian/German, instead of the usual fries, there are salt or roast potatoes or bread, industrial ingredients are up here, everything is fresh. To the Hawwerkasten is the place where visitors from abroad who are only short in Hesse can be safely invited. The simple and tasty but tasty and plentiful meat dishes are the typical hessian, which remains in memory of a visitor. My favorite is the ribs with herb. Great is the wonder of the unexplained when they understand that the hessian ribs have nothing to do with the rib : The staff is friendly and never around a joke, the waiting times are still pleasant. Especially in summer, the places outside the restaurant are very popular. But also the original atmosphere and the good glazed tribal audience inside the rest have their charm.

Sehr gutes bürgerliches Essen in rustikal-gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Wir hatten Haxe mit Bratkartoffeln die waren spitze und Rippchen mit Kraut und waren begeistert. Leider hatte die Haxe keine krosse Kruste, aber sie war ansonsten sehr gut. Das gereichte Brot war frisch und knusprig. Die Beduenung war zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Schade, dass wir nur auf der Durchreise waren, sonst wären wir sehr oft hier.
