After several trips to Siegburg, I started hearing about this place that I just MUST try! As it turned out, it was not too far from my hotel (zum Stern), but I was unable to get a spot, since they were all booked up for the evening! I tried again, and yet again, when I finally could get a seat. And now I know why...The food is delicious, and any of the side dishes are huge by U.S. standards. I ordered a baked potato my first time, and it seemed as big as my size 11 shoe! This is by far my favorite restaurant in Siegburg, and I have had many delicious dinners there. Daag is a delight as Host for the evening, and there is a wonderful warm and friendly atmosphere that greets you there. The house salad has a delicious dressing, and I love the croutons they make. You cannot go wrong with any of the meat choices, and the main feature is that they bring you a very hot stone (about 700 degrees!) on which to cook your meat yourself! + delicious plates, you cook the steak on hot stones by yourself, staffs- Salad, baked or fried potato are not included in the dish price, you have to order them separately. It was a little bit expensive. There are lots of bees and flies flying around you and on your food.
I casually found this restaurant while in Siegburg - it was quite a lucky night because I had the chance to eat a wonderful stake cooked on hot stone in front of me. Would definitely recommend to anyone willing to spend some money on good food and nice and polite service.
