My mother and I stopped for gas and our stomachs started growling. Faced with the fast food option across the street or something local, of course I chose local. When I first walked in, I knew I was at the right place. The aroma of delicious and hot meat from the buffet met me at the door. The prices are phenomenal. For a little over $3, I got a plate with 2 eggs cooked any way I wanted them, 2 meats, a side of grits or gravy and a biscuit or toast. One particular gravy with stewed tomatoes caught my eye. I wasn't impressed with my experience. The pulled pork was definitely moist, so I’ll give them credit for that. However, the tomato-based sauce was underwhelming—nothing special, but not terrible either. For my sides, I chose mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese tasted like it came from a frozen meal, rather than being homemade. The mashed potatoes were quite disappointing; they lacked flavor and were almost watery in texture. Did I mention they had no flavor? I really want to support small businesses, especially since I own one myself, but I can’t say I’d want to return to this place anytime soon.

The pricing for the food quality was disappointing, and the service took longer than expected. Overall, the restaurant was just mediocre—average at best. The only redeeming factor is that it is the only barbecue place in the area. Cleanliness was slightly below average; while the bathroom appeared clean, it had an unpleasant odor. Additionally, the person taking our order seemed unfamiliar with the menu. I've also noticed that after writing my review, one of the reviewers appears to be an employee of the restaurant, which seems unfair.

H&H was a welcome find; being on the road a lot it is refreshing to find a place that cooks fresh food and not simply heating processed food. The brisket was excellent and the mashed taters where outstanding. The cole slaw had a hint of horseradish and was superb. Service was prompt and polite. Cost was very reasonable for the generous portion. Soap operas on the tv's bit though... Highly recommend! Réservez une table maintenant

Wow, I cannot believe this is next to a gas station. We slept in and missed breakfast so being new to the area we jumped on Yelp to see if we could find something different. We stumbled on a fantastic lunch spot, home cooked goodness. If you want an awesome meal that feels homemade this is the place.

Ok, back to five stars for wonderful breakfast! Smoked sausage, bacon, ham, pain and cheese grits, biscuits, gravy, toast, and a little bit more. Prices are better than any other place for a great breakfast. I didn't get the pancakes, but the looked awesome!

We stopped here as we wanted something different and saw it on YELP. So glad we did- food delicious, had enough to eat now and take dinner home!! The staff there were super nice and helpful! Definitely should stop by if in area.

The brisket was excellent! The mac and cheese was amazing! And the fried chicken was absolutely fantastic! It was exactly what we needed for our 7-hour road trip! Réservez une table maintenant

Low country southern food. Cafeteria style. Plain and simple inside; clean. Food is great and portions are huge. Those ladies really can cook!
