This is a great place if you have kids and want to take them out for a play whilst you enjoy a meal and a few drinks.They have a playground within the restaurant so the kids can run wild while you're oblivious to anything there doing.If though you just want a quite meal and a beer this ISN'T the place to come. Despite it clearly being written on the menus for "parents" to control their children as others wish to dine in peace, that's clearly not enforced as several times it sounded like the screaming coming from a play school or day care, along with kids running amuck around staff trying to deliver meals.Speaking of meals, after quite a wait for my entree (possibly due to stepping over/aroun...

The Herdsman (or the Herdy to some) is a very reasonably priced eatery with average quality food. I'f had some meals here that have been really good and they have some great lunch specials however, more often then not, I'd class the food here as merely 'OK' - I don't believe it's ever been bad. Other than that it is very spacious with a very 'pub' atmosphere, slightly dated decor and if you go at rush hour it can be a bit busy but otherwise it is comfortable and warm. Always great service.

We have regularly gone here for years but recently it has changed to table service which makes it more if a hassle for those who want to split the bill, although there is an ATM in the venue for those who do not carry cash. I ordered a Thai beef salad last time and there as no chilli to be found only a sweet sauce which was awful so I didn't eat any of it. I think many families will frequent because of the playground.

We arrived at the Herdsman Tavern for our Christmas work lunch and found our tables set beautifully with Christmas decorations. The staff was friendly and quick to take our orders. It took a while for the food to arrive and everyone who had ordered a burger, parmesiana or plain schnitzel could only eat the side dish and left the meat. Very dry and some hard as rock. Don't recommend this place and wouldn't go back Réservez une table maintenant

We meet every 6 weeks at this tavern lovely meals, staff and service. Our complaint is that our orders are taken at our table. Great except every time someone forgets to pay before they leave and someone has to pay for them. Most annoying. We like to order at the counter and pay. This method was used previously. Someone has to chase up and find out who didn't pay for their lunch. .

250g steak, chips and salad with your choice of sauce. Cooked to perfection, usually my med rare steak ends up overdone. Great table service, staff were friendly and prompt. Place is clean and tables well spaced, room for kids and prams with an inside play area. My son was vegan at the time and they could cater for him. Manager was easily accessible and engaged

The Herdie has no pretentions it is an ALH pub trying to satisfy many markets and seems to do a reasonable job! Enjoyed my dinner here chosen from a large pub menu - order taken efficiently, meal arrived quickly and was as expected (and described)!Not expensive and for the quality is good valueWill visit again

Had an enjoyable meal at the Herdies and there was no complaint from any of our group about the meals or the service. Tuesday night special was 250gm steak with chips and salad for $15. If you prefer a la carte there is a good selection of meals on the menu. Réservez une table maintenant

Went with a family on Sunday night (kids eat free Sun and Mon if I'm not mistaken). Very tasty meals, kids serves are hit and miss (spaghetti Bolognese was not enough for a 9yo but a chicken parma was aplenty!) Would highly recommend.

It's not fine dining, it's not designed to be. It's a family pub with good value meals that leave you satisfied. The staff are efficient and normally attentive and I've never had a bad meal here. Can't go past the parmigiana
