I have been to Heritage Tavern 5-6 times and each time has been wonderful. Most recently, I went during Restaurant Week and enjoyed the summer corn soup, cocktails, pork dish, and dessert. Our server was friendly and enthusiastic. I also went for brunch with friends and our kids, and the food was amazing. The server was accommodating and great with the kids. I always recommend Heritage Tavern to out of town visitors because they have a variety of delicious food options beyond pork. I can't wait to try the Potato Gnocchi on my next visit. I wanted to have a special birthday meal in Madison at a new restaurant. After trying a few nearby restaurants with long wait times, my group discovered Heritage Tavern. Despite its appearance as a bar, we found the menu to be unique and were seated right away. The meal, wine, and stout port were all delicious. I was able to have a wonderful birthday dinner at a new spot. We will definitely be returning to Heritage Tavern next time we are in downtown Madison.
Kevin was the best waiter ever! It was my son's birthday yesterday and everything was amazing! The food was excellent but Kevin made it great! Excellent customer service and fun! Kevin had great energy and really cared if we were enjoying ourselves! Especially when he surprised my son with a birthday candle in his dessert! My husband and I woke up and are still talking about how great the experience was! Definitely 5 STARS!
I had an excellent dining experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the burger I had was one of the best I've ever tasted. The Bloody Mary with a beer chaser was superb, and the bacon was the best I've ever had. Overall, it was quite the memorable experience.

This is the absolute best place to eat in Madison and arguably the best cocktails in the area. The attention to detail and quality of all the different drink and food components is unlike any place in Madison. Many recent copy restaurants opening up on the Capitol, but nothing compares.
Everything I have ever eaten at Heritage Tavern has been delicious...seriously! Also the service is top notch. They are attentive, really know the menu and truly like Chef Daniel Fox and his food. Nice place to take anyone...they wont be disappointed!
I went here last night for dinner and everything was really delicious not one thing was forgettable. I recommend the Charcuterie platter and as well as their tempura bacon wrapped cheese curds, the dipping sauces with it were just divine!
I love the atmosphere, the service is fantastic, and the food is incredible! The staff is very knowledgeable about the food and the drinks, and I love the different choices they offer. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I enjoyed the charcuterie platter and several small plates. You accomplished what he couldn't. You showed me that a beet salad can, in fact, be delicious! You've changed my life.
Stopped in for burger week, and it was easily in the top three burgers I've had in my life.
