We dined here twice in our time at Cornwall and it was good but not great. I had one meal that was very disappointing, a chickpea curry which I honestly could have made much better myself. The chickpeas were hard and had been clearly added...too late in the dish. When I told the staff she just said, Oh sorry about that However, all in all it is a lovely place to eat and the staff were friendly and efficient and I might have been unlucky in my choice of dish .
Happened upon this pub by chance and what a great find it was too. Views over Truro river whilst having a drink on the terrace across the road from the pub were lovely. Loved it so much we decided to book to eat too. The...staff couldn't have been more helpful and cheery. We had the seafood paella and fish and chips and both were excellent. Pub was very clean, bright and tastefully decorated. Will definitely call again next time we are in the area
we had lunch here as two families on holiday, a total of 9 when I started, the chap was so helpful and friendly and the brilliant service continued when we arrived. the menu was excellent and eating so delicious. it was also nice to see proper children dessert. we were sitting outside and enjoying the wonderful view and could not have asked for more. in the did it was so good that we booked another evening.
a wonderful Sunday dinner served by amanda nick inhibiting in heron. cornish roast lamb, with all beautiful vegetables. huge aromas and my companions (4) enjoyed a wonderful relaxed couple of hours enjoying the dining wine and wonderful outsight how we sat outside....Titan her dog was also supervised by our hostes as it is a dog friendly establishment. We have dined here many times whilst visiting family in Truro. Mostly good experiences (nowhere is perfect) but our last visit was quite a let-down. The portions seem to have gone down in size and up in price. I must say I have had better...fish and chips in a Wetherspoons. Scampi also seemed a mean portion. I got the feeling that they are relying on the gorgeous location to carry them
we had dinner here last night and it was great, really good. not one of us (6 of them including 4 fussy teens) was disappointed, each cure was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place and if they are organized, book the nest table for a guaranteed great view.
I'm a local first time I visited here. I came at the same time as another lady. the tables outside were reserved. I went to the toilet. the lady got an hour table. I was told no. a bit to treat different people. they have to take care of their natives.
Great location but if you just want a drink you are made to feel like a poor relation. You won't be allowed to sit inside or on the terrace unless you want to order an over priced indifferent meal Réservez une table maintenant
First visit to this lovely pub yesterday and we loved it! Beautiful place, really friendly staff and an amazing view, can't wait to return!

"The £23 BBQ experience was disappointing as many items were missing, including the advertised seafood. I ended up settling for rice and noodles instead. When I requested a discount on the bill for the missing items, it was refused. Overall, it was not worth the price."
