Herzberg's Restaurant

Scharbeutz is a lovely seaside town frequented almost exclusively by German tourists. The meal I had was from their luncheon specials menu and was so delicious! I asked for potatoes to be substituted for vegetables, and the grilled chicken breast, salad and mixed vegetables were mouth watering! I sat outside and was made to feel very welcome alone at my table for four, and service was very attentive without being invasive. I had a wonderful and very reasonably priced glass of wine as well from an extensive wine menu. The inside of the restaurant was gorgeous, too. Very highly recommended!!!

We went here for lunch during the off-season and were impressed with the fine quality of the local seafood dishes. The menu is quite extensive and offers a broad range of things, also in the meat department, but seafood lovers will gravitate to the freshly caught local fish that is expertly prepared. The cosy atmosphere of the restaurant is complemented by the friendly service. In the summer a well-appointed large outdoor patio adds to the dining experience. Prices are reasonable for the very high quality of food on offer.

pay attention to this restaurant. they have a lot of positive reviews, but we do not see why. the so-called gourmet food with fish tasted as if it was heated in the microwave and definately did not taste fresh. the butterrice was extremely dry and was not. near a restaurant worthy meal. and the service was great until the second saw that we did not like to eat and destroyed the waitress. to cover the dissapointing experience, we were offered a cup of coffee. no thanks just not good enough.

This is a wonderful place to dine. The staff fantastic the food amazing the atmosphere warm and friendly, it's s must. The menu is extensive with a wide range from fresh fish to meat dishes and vegetarian options as well. Plenty of good wines on the menu as well. The staff look after you and once your sat comfortable you can just relax into the evening and enjoy your meal. It's a great place for all kinds of visitors from business to romance. we stumbled across this restaurant while on a trip out from our base in Kappelan and ended up having the best meal of the holiday.The owner's son was extremely helpful, providing a translated menu for us "Brits" and rather than up sell, actually told us that one of the chosen started was enough for two!The fish soup was to die for and the main courses excellent. Service was very good, attentive and not pushy. Cannot fault this restaurant

Olivier Herzberg does a fine job to provide gourmet cuisine at reasonable prices. He has a daily catch menu featuring Baltic sea catches whose freshness makes you feel the fish jumped into your plate. The wine list is carefully selected and prices are kept at reasonable levels. We ate outside on the terrace but the coziness of the inside dining room make you want to come back during winter.

In a quite nice little city on the Baltic Sea, we discovered this excellent restaurant. The owners are very present and very attentive, very efficient and giving good advices. The food is typical German with good quality, the menus and choices are small which is always a good sign. Excellent wines (even from Austria). The ambience is very cosy and comfortable. We will be back...

We went for supper. We had a variety off dishes from fish soup to cordon bleu. Starters and mains. No desserts. The quality was good and all would have been good if it was not for the amount of salt in everything. That was really a shame.Nice decor and friendly and professional staff. I got the fresh caught special of the day, delicious. It came with two scallops, perfectly seasoned and beautifully browned and a large shrimp. My son had tender pork strips in a brown sauce.It was a lovely meal for both of us andwe will return.

Food of a very high standard, friendly waiting staff, owner always present, interesting wine list - in summary: you can't go wrong here!
