This is a lovely pub on the canal at Hest Bank. However a couple of niggles. We had a drink there last night. Good booze and reasonable prices. We decided to go back tonight and have a meal. We could not eat in the restaurant which was fine as we had our dog. We had to sit between the restaurant and the main part of the bar. There was a folk group singing there but when we arrived they took up most of the area. Their music was good and it would have bennice to listen to them but the piped music from the almost empty restaurant was so loud with a speaker just above our heads. I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Hest Bank Hotel with a group of four adults and six children, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The menu offered a wonderful selection of mains and desserts that catered to both adults and children. Well worth seeking out this place if you are ever in Morecambe, a proper old style boozer which has survived the trend of modernisation which most pubs have fallen under. Shirl, the deputy Manager, was welcoming and very friendly and looked after us the whole time we were there for lunch. The menu was extensive and although we both had the same we can see the standard of food was excellent. The steak and ale pie was to die for, proper handmade pie stuffed with meat and the best gravy i have tasted for years. I look forward to my next visit!
We happened across this pub on a walk along the Lancaster canal from Carnforth. We popped in for lunch and were welcomed warmly by Steph who introduced the menu and brought us our chosen drinks. The food was freshly prepared, tasty and good value. The pub was a lovely old building on different levels and was well worth the visit. Don't miss it if you're on the Bolton le Sands area.

Small fish and chips was pathetic! Should have taken a photo and complained at the time but sadly didn’t. Fish was a thin strip with no real meat to it, about 10 chips and small bowl of warm mushy peas. £12’ish simply not worth it!
The food took a long time to arrive, despite us being the only customers in the restaurant. My wife's gammon was undercooked. The staff did not check on the food until we were ready for desserts or to pay.
I have never seen anything like it we had a burger each with about 5 chips and no it wasn't the food and drink 10 pound offer. They must just rely on holiday makers as you wouldn't return again.
I had an absolutely amazing experience at this restaurant. The pub is beautiful, the staff is lovely and friendly, and the food is superb. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Good Ale!! Although we didn’t eat here we had good drinks with a nice atmosphere attentive staff we will be back in the new year for food
