We were recommended this restaurant by a Viennese girl on our flight over. She told us it was a place frequented by locals and the food was amazing. We decided to seek it out after visiting the zoo. It was a tram ride away and a bit off the beaten track but I'm glad we made the effort. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We got there early around 4.30 and hadn't made a booking but were given a table and said we were fine if we could finish by 6. This was fine by us. We didn't book at table for a Saturday night dinner - big mistake! Heurigers don't seem to depend on tourists, but on locals and they all go out on Saturdays. This was our third attempt at a Heuriger in the same evening! Though they were also fully booked, the friendly staff still seated us if we promised to finish in time for their next reservation. We gladly obliged. We didn't quite understand how the buffet works, but expect local fare and the staff are happy to describe what's on the menu if they know enough English. Have always come here but never did any reviews , been coming here since some time and have always enjoyed the food , the wine , the atmosphere and the service . Lots of choices for appetizers if you want to call it and also they have warm dishes as usually a typical heurigen does not serve warm food but all just cold meats .You have to come and try this place .It is not the tourist frequented place which is very nice as you know that food are not cooked and prepared to please tourist imagination but to a real Austrian heurigen experience and a touch of sophistication .Best way to reach from the city is the tram 44 directipn to Dornbach.

Typical Austrian haunt, populated in late afternoons by retirees sipping their wines, reminiscing, and snacking before they head home to watch their favorite evening TV show. Great atmosphere, great little deli bar to choose your salads or mains, very reasonable prices for Vienna. A great place to go if you are looking for a typical slice of Vienna.

Great Heuriger! Great outdoor setting, great authentic food and ambiance. Although not old and established building, but appealing to mainly Viennise people.
