I was travelling through by myself at the end of an 7 hr drive. The locals were so friendly and the publician Sue Ellen sat with me and we talks for hours. I'd happily aim to travel back just to visit the Heywood Hotel again because of the wonderful friendly atmosphere. I stayed in a single room The cheapest room I have ever paid for, neat tidy with a share bathroom. I was the only guest on a Friday night. Not a noise outside in the town after I went to bed. The chinese born chef talked to me the next morning and told me about his life. What an interesting gentleman. A superb chef also loved his meal the night before. I could have happily packed him up in my suitcase and taken him home also!...
You will be pleasantly surprised on arrival at the Heywood hotel from the service to the food and wonderful atmosphere where you will definitely keep coming back.Firstly you will be greeted and treated as friend on arrival by the warmest staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting anywhere in the world, the meals are exceptional and world class, and I doubt you will eat it all due to the size of them which are prepared by one of the best chefs anywhere, and lastly to the fantastic hostess, keep up the great work, as you should be very proud of your hotel.
I was on a bus trip with the South Warrnambool Football Netball Club and we were in Mount Gambier, being too early for pub meals in the Mount we decided to ring ahead to the Heywood Hotel and book for 30 on a Saturday night at 6pm! They were very inviting and made sure we all sat together! The service was great and the food delicious, very fast to the table also! Not one complaint from 30 people! The owner invited us to book anytime we are over that way. Thanks Heywood Hotel we will be back someday!
Booked into the Heywood Motel and decided to eat at the pub after reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor. Best decision we'd made all day. The service was great and the food fabulous. On offer was the usual pub food as well as Thai. My husband and I both opted for the Thai and our daughter had a steak. It came out in no time at all and we weren't disappointed. We certainly will be stopping by on our way through again. We would definitely recommend this Hotel. AAA+++
Quiet welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Great range of traditional pub fare and Asian specialties thanks to the chef. I had the Thai green curry with prawns that had real flavour and heat - top notch. We were also asked to taste some local wines. Great evening and the staff were always on hand to help. Great night
