The lady that works the front desks and takes orders should not be doing customer service. She is very rude and condescending and has no politeness whatsoever in her voice and or actions. Being the first person that communicates to the customer you wouldthink would have some kind of professionalism but no. I hope that she isn’t the owner because that would be even more sad.Stepping into the restaurant there was an elderly couple in front of me and she was nothing but rude to them, basically forcingthem into tipping her which is extremely unprofessional. Food is okay but the people that work there needs an attitude check. Iwouldn’t come back here even if the food was perfect.
My mother and I visited Hibachi Express for the first time tonight, and we were quite disappointed with both the menu and the service. When we mentioned we were new customers, the staff seemed annoyed by our presence. Aside from the salad, everything we ordered fell short—the flavors were bland, and considering the prices, it was frustrating to be given plastic utensils. We tried the sushi, dumplings, spring rolls, and hibachi beef with vegetables. While the salad was on par with other Japanese restaurants I've been to, the beef was dry, and the vegetables lacked authentic Asian flavors—there was even zucchini included. We won’t be returning.
Fantastic food! This was my first experience ordering from Hibachi Express. We placed our order online and tried the fried shrimp appetizer, gyoza, seaweed salad, Valrico roll, Mexican roll, Philadelphia roll, and the steak hibachi. Everything was amazing, and despite it being a Friday night, our order was ready in just 15 minutes. The prices were fair, and the service was excellent. I will definitely return!
Hibachi Express is a very clean restaurant that prioritizes COVID safety. The food is fresh and flavorful, and the service is quick, even during busy times. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I also appreciate the location, as there is plenty of parking—a rare find in Valrico. We ordered a sushi party tray, and it was a big hit with the entire family. Definitely worth a visit!

Worst Sushi I ever had it. Rice was muddy and terrible taste. Large part of Hibachi, rice was fine, vegetables fine, but salmon was so overcooked and BURNED that it was hard to bite through. We asked the server if he was supposed to be like that on which he gave a dry yes and went before we could pay attention to how bad it was. Unfortunately, it was the first and last time there.

They offer a lunch special for $8.49 that includes steak, shrimp, or chicken with a large portion of rice, vegetables, and a drink. I chose the shrimp, and it was excellent. My two friends had the steak and chicken, and they said it was good. Overall, the portions were very filling.
Went with friends for lunch. Not crowded. They seem to have a lot of take out. Got the lunch special either steak, shrimp or chicken with large serving of rice and veggies plus drink for $8.49. I had the shrimp. It was very good. My 2 friends had steakand chicken. Said equally goid. Was very filling.

My wife and I got hibachi the vegetables were under cooked and there was so much water in the bottom of my to go container it turned into soup. The sushi wasn't bad but didn't get much and we got all the same roll instead of two different kinds like weordered. Disappointing for the money.
