Hintere Wasserfallen

Day 2 of our family trip to Switzerland and we had been recommended the trip in the gondola and a scooter ride back down the hill (or Trottinet as it's known locally). It was lunch time so we took a punt on this restaurant and we were warmly welcomed. The menu is traditional fare we sat outside on the terrace to admire the view. Inside was a typical wooden chalet and very clean too. There was a good choice at a reasonable price we spent Sw Fr 88 between the 4 of us for food drink. Excellent schnitzel, pommes frites and sandwiches too. Beautiful location and good quality. After lunch we walked up the Passenweg.

We chose this restaurant during our day trip to Wasserfallen and really enjoyed it. Just a 3 minute walk from the top of the cablecar station. Firstly, it has a huge outdoor terrace with a great view on the Wasserfallen region. Then it has a great outdoor playground for children with a super duper slide! Finally, the food is super tasty! And service was very good too. So we definitely recommend it :

As soon we saw the water price, considering that we are in Switzerland, with mountain water sources (and water electricity powered country) everywhere, and considering that this region’s name is Wasserfallen (water Falls), I was shocked to see the price of one plastic bottle of water...

Specifically, this Bergrestaurant sells beer from the Appenzeller brewery. Best brewery in Switzerland. Since they sell beer from my favorite brewery, this bergrestaurant is better than any bergrestaurant that doesnt sell my favorite beer. Period.

Lovely sunny terrace. Great spot for a beer after a hike. Space looked ideal for a party/event. Staff were very nice.
