Without question one of the greatest hotdogs not just in New Jersey but all of the United States for that matter. I’ve been eating here since I was a child since it’s located a short walk away from where my uncle lives. Nothing beats their crunchy juicy deep-fried to perfection Thuman’s hot dogs, combined with some of the best chili ever conceived. Also delicious are their hamburgers sliders, the type of stuff white castle wish it could be, and their Italian sausage sandwiches are also a winner. I live close by to an equally iconic hot joint called Hot Dog Johnny’s in Belvidere , Warren County I’m from Hackettstown), and Johnny’s while very good in their own right, is no match for Hiram’s. Still have yet to try the 2 Clifton legends of Rhutt’s Hutt and the Hot Grill, as well as the birthplace of the “Italian” dog, Jimmy Buff’s, but I doubt any of them will be able to knock Hiram’s off the top my Hot Dog hierarchy.

I had dined at Hiram‘s for the past thirty 30) years, but it had been well over a decade since my last visit here. The hot dogs were absolutely amazing. Each plain hot dog was three dollars and seventy-five $3.75). This restaurant also had hamburgers, fries, onion rings, and an assortment of beverages both alcoholic and nonalcoholic). There were plenty of condiments to add to a person’s food. This restaurant could get very easily packed. The staff was nice. The parking lot could be difficult to navigate due to its congestion, but guests could parallel park on the adjacent streets. There were bathrooms which were just outside of the main indoor dining area. This restaurant had seating both indoors and outdoors. The only note of caution that I could provide for future customers is that this restaurant only allowed payment by cash.

I've been coming here for over 40 years with my parents and siblings, and now my own family. Dependably delicious!
