For this area, it is very good and it’s the only sushi option we have. I'm a bit taken aback by some of the recent reviews here, as I've consistently enjoyed the sushi every time we've dined at this restaurant. Is it the best or freshest sushi I’ve ever had? Certainly not, especially considering we’re in a small town in rural Western Colorado! I've experienced better sushi in places like New York City and Los Angeles, but we aren't exactly near an ocean here. Plus, I paid significantly more at those locations. This was our first visit to Hiro, and WOW. Howard (I assume the owner? , was absolutely incredible. He was attentive, funny, and never rushed us or left us waiting. He took the time to chat with us, and at the end of our meal gave us all a paper copy of a Playlist that he put together (which I thought was the the sweetest touch . Will absolutely dine here again next time we are in Montrose! Every roll was delicious, HIGHLY recommend the red snapper sashimi, and I swear their Gyoza was the best I've ever had! Can't forget to add some Sake with your meal, good selection and a to die for cloudy sake!
This family-owned restaurant serves outstanding, incredibly fresh sushi. The dining area is impeccably clean and features minimalist Japanese decor. When it comes to dietary restrictions, the staff was attentive, listened carefully, and made sure to accommodate my needs.

I love this place so much. The food is so amazing and my mom and I go all the time and we get the Mt. Fuji and San Juan Roll. The service is amazing, the waiter makes jokes with us and makes sure our food is always up to par. In my opinion it is the best place to eat in
I have dined here a few times. Every time I get sushi, one ingredient is left off or barely used. I didn't notice it at first until it kept happening. Had the lunch special and was hungry an hour later. One of the better sushi places in Montrose.

The Ramen with beef was super fantastic and the several sushi rolls that we tried were all really good. Service was really friendly and attentive.
