So my wife and I stayed for one night. The hotel was pretty nice and our room was really clean. The front desk staff were very friendly as well. My only problem and this is why I’m giving it a 3 star is we wanted to enjoy time in the pool and hot tub but we couldn’t because there was a huge family there that spent all day and all night in the pool and hot tub and made it very difficult for other guests to use it. The next morning we were able to use the pool for not even an hour before more kids showed up so we went to the hot tub but more kids came in and went into the hot tub and they were running around which also made it hard to sleep at night as well. Best hotel stay ever! We live local and were looking for a hotel stay for our daughters birthday. The hotels in other parts of the city were gross and overpriced. This one was amazing. We had a group of 2 adults and 8 teenagers. The staff was able to get us two rooms adjoining. The pool area was really nice. The staff were really nice even a week before via phone conversation. The breakfast was great. The rooms were very well kept and clean. Never once did we encounter any problems or difficulties. The decor and cleanliness of the hotel was a plus. Not crowded at all. Later, we went to the lobby, and the same employee informed us that it was "closed for the night" at just 1 AM, which is unusual since hotel lobbies typically remain open. We returned to our room and discovered blonde dog hair and an orange chip in the sheets. Just when we were about to fall asleep, we realized we needed water, but there was no sink, so we had to venture out to get ice and water from the hallway. As we were doing that, we encountered the same staff member again, who threatened to call the police if we didn’t go back to our room. It was utterly ridiculous that my friends and I felt frightened to leave our hotel room.
This was our third stay at this property and it won't be the last! The entire facility is exceptionally well maintained and has been recently remodeled. From the lobby to the bathrooms this place sparkles. The housekeeping staff is superb in their jobs. The bed linens, towels, and carpets all smelled freshly cleaned and were arranged with care. The breakfast area was kept well stocked and hot all the way to closing at 10 AM. WE have family in the Grand Rapids area and when we come to visit this our hotel!

I travel a lot for work and I typically stay at Holiday inn Express. This is the first time I've stayed at Grand Rapids Southwest. I can usually point at one thing I didn't like when I stay somewhere, but this time, I really have no complaints. The staff was very pleasant, my wife and daughter stayed at the same hotel a week later and I was able to use my points with no issue, and my room was very clean and the surrounding area was quiet. I highly recommend.

Although there were a few minor issues with the equipment during breakfast, it didn't dampen my overall experience. The team ensured that all my expectations were met. This has always been one of my favorite hotels. It sets back off the Main Street but super close to everything, food, shopping, malls. The staff have always been very professional and polite. Rooms are updated with a mini fridge and microwave in the roomLove the hot tub and big pool, the also have a small game room and pool tableLooking forward to free breakfast in the morning
Large, clean rooms. Very quiet when we were there, Nov 2022. Good breakfast of omelets, sausage, cereal, pastries, yogurt. But no decaf coffee. The location seems isolated but it doesn't feel unsafe. It's across from a YMCA, north of a large residential area, restaurants within half mile but not visible from the hotel. The entry road is hard to find in the dark.

The restaurant was very clean and quiet, and the staff were friendly—thank you, Tonya! I can't swim, but the pool was clean. I also used the gym, which was clean and well-equipped. This is my daughter's favorite spot for her days off. I also live in Minnesota and frequently use the same hotel brand.
