Holiday Inn Hazlet, An Ihg

I chose this hotel because we were attending an event at Bell Works and did not want to drive back home late at night. The hotel is located about 10 minutes away from the venue and suited our needs perfectly. The rooms were ready at check-in and they were well appointed and clean. One thing that I found interesting (and smart) was rather than providing travel sized packages of soap, shampoo, etc. there were dispensers of Dove shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower and near the bathroom sink. Overpriced for such condition of the room at the price of over $170 fees. Pros: receptionists are kind. Bathroom and bedding are clean. Cons: mattress (soft and no support) and pillows (the filling inside is rolling) are uncomfortable for good sleep. Lighting is too dim to read, work and see around. Lobby looks not clean. The floor to their bar is sticky.

You’d get similar accommodations in a tent on the side of the road, probably with less bugs. DO NOT STAY HERE. They will change your room type and refuse to adjust the rate. The windows look out into the hallways, the place is full of roaches and the bathrooms are disgusting. No microwaved cheap hotel breakfast?? In this economy? Get outta here.

Not a bad hotel or location. I will never use this hotel again strictly based on the front counter employee. I may not even stay at another Holliday Inn after this atrocious experience. Training is important.

Decently close to the beach, friendly staff, extra towels upon request, room was clean and pool is open. No complaints.
