We visited here on a recommendation of a friend for our anniversary. There is more of a pub area downstairs and restaurant vibe upstairs. I ordered a Diet Coke it tasted off like the syrup had gone. When I mentioned it to a server I was told it wasn’t actually Diet Coke but a locally made alternative. I drink a lot of Diet Coke and was really disappointed by this. Had I been told when I ordered my drink I’d have probably chosen an different drink. Menu is very limited, 5 6 choices of main. I went for the chicken coconut curry. It was good but I wouldn’t say I was blown away for the price £22? but dessert was good although I do think a bit overpriced. Overall a pleasant evening but I had expe...
I was really disappointed with the service. A group of us came for a meal and we all felt rushed from the beginning. The waiter was obviously stressed and it reflected on the time we were in the restaurant. I have to say the food was very good (vegetarian options limited) and the bar staff downstairs were lovely. I did mention this feedback when I was in the restaurant, but I felt that I was given an excuse rather than an apology.
I am writing this to counter some of the morons who have reviewed this great restaurant. When you read things like has a limited menu only 5 or 6 mains choices .That is normal at a decent restaurant, this isnt pizza hut. I love this place. Staff are great and they keep their staff which tells you something about the owners.Anyway rant over go and get a lovely dinner in a great restaurant. Jamie
Very nice meal with friendly staff We were in the area for a family funeral and found this place for an evening meal. We were a family group of six and they fitted us in and were extremely professional and friendly. They made us feel very welcome and explained the menu perfectly. A little gem Absolutely sublime food and fantastic service highly recommended. The Holt was recommended to us and you can really see why. The atmosphere is very friendly and causal, with attentive and helpful staff. The food was a real surprise a very high standard of tasty dishes the menu is not large but done excellently. If you are in the area its a must.
What a great hidden gem... The venue radiates an amazing warmth, a welcomed smile both from existing customers at the bar and such energetic staff egar to please. Quality of food had exceeded our expectations. The Chef owner Angus is a larger than life character that undersrands the value of hospitality where professional service matters.
Great menu, with interesting flavours making the most from excellent fresh fish and meat. My son had excellent mussels, I had crab cakes and my wife had delicious Asian flavoured sea bass. Waiting staff were really friendly and lively atmosphere downstairs. Best restaurant I have been too in 10 years in Honiton.
Absolutely exceptional. I have dined here three times, one’s being a work party and every time the food and service was exceptional. All the staff are very professional and welcoming. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the lighting is just right. This place never disappoints! Réservez une table maintenant
