My wife and I were involved in the parade at Pride Manchester which was a wonderful experience we parked in First Street and as we made our way back to the car we decided to call into HOME for a late lunch. We were fortunate enough to be able to get a table as they were turning people away (even though there were a lot of empty tables). We ordered at around 3 o clock mains only steak and a burger. Nothing fancy. After waiting until 3:50 we enquired as to where our meal was and we had been waiting an hour, the response Have you? ...no apology or explanation. The waitress came back after a few minutes and said our food would be up next. We waited a further 15 minutes and watched several other...
Really disappointed with both the quality of food and the service provided. I ordered the chicken, chips and coleslaw (around £15) chicken was extremely dry and the pot of coleslaw was tiny. Thankfully the chips tasted good, but I wasn 't intending on paying £15 for a good plate of chips ... The service was really quite terrible. The male waiter, who seemed to be a supervisor or manager was rude and came across extremely unapproachable. When my friend said that her vegan chicken was dry he responded well that 's how it is sometimes wow, great. I won 't be coming back any time soon which is a real shame. I am currently working in Manchester and have become a frequent visitor to Home where I enjoy watching the varied and excellent film showings. I often eat at their restaurant prior to watching and have been impressed on every occasion by both the food and the service. I have tried a range of dishes including fish and chips, steak, pizza and salads, all have been tasty, well prepared, and reasonably priced. I will continue to return for the food and films and have no hesitation in recommending both.
I am and avid theatre goer. Love good food. Came to HOME to see a piece of theatre this week and paid £9:30 for my ticket. BARGAIN. Thought I’d treat myself to some food before. Ordered a harissa chicken salad and some wedges and it came to £18:75. Gulp. But, it was my night off my parenthood so I was treating myself. The food arrived in two boxes. BOXES. Wooden cutlery. We had an early evening meal at Home before going to a concert at the Bridgewater Hall. My wife had a chicken burger and I had a beefburger, We shared a starter and a dessert. All the food was excellent and well definitely be going back. The restaruant itself was spacious and we were fortunate enough to be sitting by the window with a good view. Service was very pleasant.
Bad experience as a local, 2nd time visiting the bar downstairs, and bartenders 3 different for every drink charged drinks price different all times, plus not adding ingredients to gins which have in menu, I think they should sync up and sell to customers what they offer in menu, luckily there are plenty of other bars in Manchester where they know what they are doing...
A beautiful spot with a chilled atmosphere. Our waiter was delightful. Menu is amazing with lots of interesting veggie options. Quite expensive but all the food is fresh and homemade and feels made with care. A great restaurant to visit in Manchester even if you aren’t going to the cinema/theatre.
I have eaten at this restaurant several times and have always been impressed but this time I was so impressed that I had to write a review! The Hispi cabbage main course was truely one of the nicest things I have ever eaten, cooked and flavoured beautifully. Service was friendly and efficient. Réservez une table maintenant
