Oh my Gauss! This place is amazing! Everyone has burgers. And there are a few places that have craft or specialty burgers. But this is the first down-to-earth place that has burgers that are downright culinary! My girlfriend had “The Best Burger in America,” with perfectly cooked bacon and a delightful sauce with hints of cumin in it. I had “The Fireside,” which caresses you with flavor before washing you in a tidal wave of heat and spiciness that never leaves you in agony. The Freedom Fries and Freedom Tots are crisped and flavored perfectly and pair perfectly with their House Made Ranch and the Abe’s Sauce (to compare it to honey mustard is to do it a disservice). If you like hamburgers, please head down to Honest Abe’s as soon as you can!
We drove through Nebraska and decided to look for the best burger connection in Lincoln. Since Honest Abes was the only burger we had, I can't tell you if it's the best, but I can tell you it's one of the freshest, tasty burgers I've ever had. I would recommend Honest Abe to all. I had used the double El Jefe Burger, the Ghost Pepper pepper Jack cheese. It was spicy, but not too bad. I have a high heat tolerance. My father got another burger who had Jalapeños and Sriracha Ketchup, but it wasn't very sharp. It was very delicious. The Pommes, especially the Parmesan cheese, were fantastic. The Shakes were also delicious. However, fresh beef was the highlight. It was juicy, it was hot, it was so good.
Overall I love the food here and attention to detail they put into a hamburger. The only negative is that when you inform the staff on the house side of things that they're out of something we don't respond. As a customer I see the trash can and it stays that way for the entire hour that I'm there. If they run out of tea that they brew the entire hour on there they don't Brew any more. Otherwise I love eating here.
