Hook Fish Co. At Proof Lab Beer Garden

I thought for sure I had photos of this place, but alas. Very cute outdoor seating area. It is well protected and super sunny. I was a little confused when we first walked in on the correct order of operations, but basically you need to grab a table FIRST, and then proceed to the counter to place your order with the table number handy where they will deliver your food when it's ready. My partner had the fish chips and we were both pleased with the soft, flaky fish and really crisp/good texture fried batter. So it was a good choice. It wasn't until I had a different fish chips later in the weekend that I really appreciated how fresh everything was here, so I look back on this meal more fondly than my initial (good) impression. I had the fish tacos and they were also flaky and delicious. I ate them all with juice dripping down my hands and a smile on my face. Food was delicious and that's really the important part. Why not 5 stars? Besides the initial confusion with needing a table number at the counter to order, the drink selection was meh. We tried a homemade watermelon mint juice and found it lacking. Maybe my taste buds are ruined by all the sugar in American food but either way I did not love this drink. I will happily be back my next time north of the city. Lovely vibes and flaky fish.

Just five minutes from our vacation rental, we're glad we tried it right away because it's so good we ended up eating here four times! We tried the fish chips which are so good my wife ate them every visit. I tried them as well as the fish tacos and the fish sandwich with the catch of the day. All three were so good I really can't choose a favorite. The beer selection is outstanding, and yeah...you do have to stand in line to make your food and drink order, but their system does work well. Only complaint is they didn't do well at keeping iced water available for those wanting it, and sent my wife next door to get an iced tea...which ended up being good, so no prob.

After an early morning hike to Muir Woods a stop for lunch at hook fish is a must. Great fresh seafood fish tacos are great as are the first plates. Great beer as well

Great spot for lunch on an amazing summer day in October. Staff super helpful. Fish tacos are amazing. Perfect day hike in the hills and tacos at hook fish. Yum
