This Amish restaurant is a wonderful chance to immerse yourself in the local Amish culture. The owner prepares delicious full Thresher meals with roasted chicken, noodles, and potatoes, followed by ice cream and coffee while sharing insights into her Amish lifestyle. Reservations are required, and groups as small as 4 or larger can be accommodated with advance notice. It is a truly unique dining experience in Shipshewana. They also offer hayrack lunches, so be sure to inquire about all the food options when making a reservation.
I visited this restaurant for dinner on the same night as a large group of RVers and decided to join in, even though I was not part of their group. The Miller Farm was a lovely place to try the Amish-Drashers dinner, featuring chicken, roast beef, noodles (Amish version of spaetzle), and a delicious dessert. The atmosphere was welcoming and the food was delicious.
We were delighted to meet a wonderful Amish family. They were very open about their beliefs and lifestyle. The meal was exceptional. If we are in the area again, we will definitely visit the restaurant. We have made new friends!
