I've listened to Michael Roper talk about Hopleaf and beer for years, dreaming of going there. Finally, today, I made it. I had nothing but high expectations, and yet, still, my expectations were smashed with an even-better-than-I-could've-imagined experience.
Best Belgian beer selection in the city, on top of an already impressive selection, and in my experience and opinion, the best frites and mussels. First time being on the patio which was perfect and reminiscent of a cafe or brasserie overseas.
Had the fried chicken sandwich and a draft cider and both were really good! The service was friendly and really quick for being moderately busy and I liked the decor in the restaurant as well. Will come back!

hopleaf is a classic restaurant bar in chicago. with a phenomenal beer list, wine options on the tap and tasty eating that is where they want to be every night of the week.
One of my favorite places in Chicago. Come for the beer, stay for the food. Had the half Amish chicken took me to heaven and back and so there's no picture here.
