We had paella for 2, also filet of salmon. I only tasted a mouthful of the salmon, and thought it was quite dry. The paella was quite good, it looked fine on the plate as you can see, but was lacking in flavour. In terms of the service however, it was dreadful. There were 3 of us, and we were seated at a table for 2, which wobbled badly. I asked if we could move to a free table for 4 but was told that was reserved. I then pointed at a table for 4 inside the restaurant, ie. not a popular location, and they said they would check it was available. They then started moving our stuff to a table inside, but to the wrong table! I said no, not that one that one pointing at the table for 4. The head waiter said, Aqui or Aqui in an aggressive manner. It was ridiculous as I had clearly pointed out the table I wanted and I was then made to feel like an idiot. So not a pleasant start to the evening, though it would get worse. When the paella was served, the head waiter who had been aggressive earlier started to serve it onto the 2 plates. Before he could start, I said I would prefer to serve it. He immediately said NO! I DO THAT! and carried on serving. So there was no chance of a photo of the paella in the pan, or to serve it ourselves. And he made a complete mess of serving it anyway, as he put all the prawns and mussels onto the 2 plates, leaving about half the paella in the pan, with nothing but rice.

We ate in the restaurant which has an amazing view across the bay and wonderful service. One of our meals arrived cold and we had to ask for it to be re-heated. The fruits de mer linguini was disappointing as it only contained clams and mussels. The ravioli ricotta was also disappointing as the advertised sautéed vegetables were tiny bits of yellow pepper and spring onion stirred into the sauce. Portion sizes were also small and expensive. Compared with other eating establishments nearby, sadly this was not what we had come to expect.

Our first night and we decided to try this place. The area is very busy and limited availability at most places. Menu is quite small and prices are steep but it’s a hotel I guess, quite what difference that should make???? Anyways the food we had was very good, prices are not competitive as mentioned and a core seafood paella is 25 to 30 Euros. Hmmm. Anyway lovely location and food was good. Francisco and his team were very good.

Ate here for dinner twice during our 5 night stay and both times the food was absolutely faultless as was the service. Particularly loved the hake and paella but I’d imagine anything ordered here would be amazing. Will definitely be returning next year.
