After getting traumatized by Sukiyaki of les galleries de la capitale, I was so relieved to find this little gem where you can get REAL sushi! A nice little cozy Izakaya with Japanese style decor where the waiter would shout out "いらっしゃいませ！” to greet new costumers. The menu is a bit complicated so we went for the Choix du chef and let him surprise us. The result was a beautifully displayed selection of sushis. Québec City has over 2500 restaurants and a very small number of sushi places call themselves Japanese but most if not all of them are not. Recently, the an authentic Japanese ramen place owned and operated by Japanese opened recently to great success. We wanted to go there by they were closed for vacations. So searched another place and ran into this small place. The place is small and seats 20 max approximately; three people work in it one of them the Japanese waitress. This is a small restaurant, so you may not get a spot. However we arrived about 6:30 on a Friday evening and got a table. Four of us ate here for dinner. We all enjoyed our selections. Each of us had between 3 - 4 varieties of sushi. The sushis were freshly made. You can see them being made just behind the counter. The place was doing a very steady table business and take out business. If you are looking for sush, you will be quite satisfied.
Located in the Limonlou neighborhood in Quebec City, this little sushi spot was ideal. The people who work there are very friendly. It offers a cozy environment and a great menu. If you're near, definitely stop by - we visited after our excursion to Montmorency Falls and were not disappointed!
