We love this restaurant and visit it quite often. Nice atmosphere and tasty food. But i would like to complain about man working on the terrace, his hospitality is zero! Last Friday we went there to eat and that man instead of “ hello, how many people are you, welcome” said “que?” We speak English, Spanish and Catalan but then we couldn’t find an answer. We got our table and the same man brought menu and just threw it to the table. We were disappointed, sad and disgusted! My husband took menus and gave it back to the owner of restaurant with words “ see you in winter in the main building, hopefully without that ka..t “ P.S. snails are very very good there!
La Granota, I would say, had always been there, delivering Catalan genuine cuisine. Is it possible to cook in a simple but excellent way? Is it possible to know how was our best cuisine a 100 years ago? The answer is yes. The place: la Granota. My favorites are grilled chicken, white beans with “butifarra” (pork sausage), snails and “escalivada”. I have seen there, having lunch, one of our most renown chefs, Carme Ruscalleda. We arrived on spec for a table for 11 as we had been unable to book due to our lack of Spanish or Catalan. Despite the language problem, helped by our phrasebook and pointing, the service was attentive and the food and drinks good. The ultimate cost was very good value. The local house wine comes per carafe and was excellent. The staff were very welcoming. The setting in an old Catalan farmhouse is very atmospheric.
