My daughter and I were looking for something different to eat, but didn 't want a full service restaurant. While we were looking around online, we came across HCK. Since we are from TN, and we do love our hot chicken, this was what we decided on. When we got out of the car, the first thing we both said, This place smells amazing. And when we walked in the front door, we knew we were at the right place. The gentleman at the counter was super helpful, friendly, and was answering all the questions we were throwing at him. At this point, the owner walked up and started talking to us. He explained how fresh the food was, how he makes the sauce, how he builds the sandwiches, etc. We got to talking...
Wanted to try this place due to the great reviews but little by little my opinion of this place declined to the point that I just walked out. When I first came in, the person taking our order seemed so tired of his job and bored and was mumbling as we told him our order. Then when I went to sit down, the table I initially sat at was COMPLETELY sticky. Not just one area, the entire table. The floors were also sticky and I could feel it as I was walking around. I decided to get up and take a look at the prep stations, and no surprise, they were also not being kept clean, with parts of waffle, chicken etc. all over the stations. Last night I placed an order through DoorDash from this place. DoorDash notified me that the dasher had an issue and my order was cancelled. I quickly went to the store and got there right at closing time. I explained to them what happened and they told me a dasher had came in for my food and taken it. They were very apologetic even though it wasn't their fault at all. They offered to remake the whole meal at no charge and even gave me a free drink. The whole staff was super nice! As for the food 10/10 !
Honestly its been awhile since I've came in, however I was craving their after burner sauce so you know I had to get a bottle!! but man when I tell you their loaded Mac and cheese bowl was one of the most filing and tastiest things I have eaten, I was obsessed with it, Marcus was very helpful about the tour of the menu; definitely need a refresher Parking: Since it's in Potomac festival; plenty of parking Meal type: Lunch Réservez une table maintenant
Just flew in from San Diego and need to grab some food. What a great choice!! Service was friendly and helpful, food was excellent and if we lived here we'd eat here a LOT!
