Nous avons découvert cet endroit en explorant Conde sur Noireau. La Brasserie est également un hôtel. Nous avons mangé à l'extérieur en choisissant le menu du jour à prix abordable. Mon conjoint a pris une entrée entièrement composée de légumes, tandis que j'ai opté pour l'alternative poisson. Ensuite, mon conjoint a pris un dessert tandis que j'ai choisi l'entrecôte et frites du jour. Tout était bien préparé/cuit et savoureux. L'endroit était rempli de locaux, tous prenant un déjeuner et une boisson au soleil. La nourriture est arrivée dès qu'elle était prête, tout fraîchement préparé, ce qui explique pourquoi cela attire les ouvriers prenant leur pause déjeuner de deux heures. Notre addition totale était l'équivalent de 20 euros. Le vin maison ou le cidre local étaient bons, même si je me demande parfois comment les Français travaillent après un tel déjeuner avec autant d'alcool ! Nous reviendrons lorsque nous serons de nouveau dans la région.
Post Christmas pre New Year. Clientèle a mix of local council workers and family groups. Not a tourist in sight. (French children were so well behaved - not an xbox to be seen)Traditional bar with restaurant. Very full, with drinkers and diners all engaged in cheerful conversations. Only missing the gauloises!We took menu du jour and enjoyed it very much. Huge salade nordique starter. Main course entrecôte chewy but tasty. The accent was really on beer, so wine choice very limited, but house red was quite OK.Service very attentive from mother and 2 daughters (?) who thrived on good natured chaffing from the young council drivers.With final coffees, bill was €52 for 2.Having been obliterated in WW2, Condé is no longer a tourist attraction, but visitors to the surrounding Suisse Normande will find a slice of old France here.
Found this place whilst exploring Conde sur Noireau. The Brasserie is also a hotel.We ate outside having the well priced menu du jour. Spouse had an all vegetable starter and I had the fish alternative. We followed this with a pudding for spouse whilst I had the steak and chips of the day. All well prepared/cooked and tasty.The place was full of locals, all having a lunch and drink in the sun. The food arrived when it was ready, all freshly prepared which is why it attracts workmen having their two hour lunch. Our total bill the euro equivalent of £20.The local house wine or cider was good, although I sometimes wonder how the French work after such a lunch with that quantity of alcohol !We will revisit when we are next in the area
