This restaurant is located at the small heart of Westerstede, a tiny town famed for its Rhododendrons. The building seems to be some old estate with its original foundations dating back to 17th century. Nowadays it is home to a typical German restaurant and a fine hotel.The Fischteller (fish plate) 'Westerstede' consisting of perch, plaice and prawn was very fresh, well-prepared and tasty. Much to our luck, the potatoes were cooked instead of fried as so often the case in Germany. We took pale lager, Jever Pilsener, instead of wine and that turned out to be an excellent choice. Although the restaurant looked deserted, the service was friendly. The price/performance ratio was nearly perfect:...
