This hotel and restaurant is situated bang in the centre of Eguzon opposite the church. There is ample parking, outside of market days, in the square outside the church. There is other parking within 100 metres. It should be a thriving business but may suffer from seasonality.We went there for lunch after a wet morning exploring the Eguzon barrage and lake. The restaurant was not busy but there was a mixed clientele of workers, another family group and two or three couples. The menu of the day was probably good value at 13 euros for a buffet starter, main of chicken leg or toulouse sausage, cheese and dessert but it was slightly disconcerting to see several A4 posters announcing that no deviation from the fixed menu would be permitted. We chose to go a la carte. There were no starters on the menu but we could, presumably, have partaken of the buffet. As it was we went for the limited menu of main courses.The waitress took quite some time before enquiring whether we would like an aperitif so we decided to order our meal straight away. There was puzzlement when we asked whether the fish, cod, would be accompanied by any vegetables but she found out for us that it was served with ratatouille and salad, which seemed an odd combination. An enquiry as to whether chips could be substituted for one of these was met with a blank look. In the event we ordered extra plates of chips. Two of us chose the salad of gizzards, two the cod, and two decided on a hamburger and chips.These arrived after a reasonable wait of around 15 minutes during which we enjoyed the drinks we had ordered which came with a dish of pretzels and other small savoury biscuits. In the event the salads were excellent, the cod fresh and the hamburgers ample and tasty. I leave it to others to decide whether a salad and a plate of chips is worth 18 euros with similar prices for the other mains.If all aspects of the restaurant matched the quality of the food I would have no hesitation in recommending it. It has a lot of advantages but could do much more to make itself the best eatery in town. I would instead say it is worth a try.
