Mon fils et moi avons dîné ici le 18 octobre. Nous avons opté pour deux plats et nous avons été satisfaits de nos choix. La serveuse, accueillante et efficace, nous a apporté une mise en bouche avant notre repas... une mousse de betterave, qui était très bonne. Mon fils a pris du merlu, accompagné d'une bonne sauce. J'ai pris du saumon fumé et des tagliatelles avec une sauce au beurre. La nourriture était de bonne qualité. Les portions étaient généreuses... malheureusement, je n'ai pas pu finir la mienne mais c'était uniquement à cause de la générosité de la portion. Le restaurant lui-même est joliment meublé. Not many places open in Vire on a Sunday but the cheapest set menu at 17.50 euros for 3 courses looked good value. What a lovely surprise. The food looked like it had been prepared by a Masterchef finalist and was delicious if a little fancy. It looked amazing and was tasty and plentiful. The desserts were beautifully presented and tasted great. The only down side was the price of the extras. We were charged 5 euros for a bottle of water and we were not given the option of tap water. But still a good experience which I would recommend.
We went here a couple of times whilst staying in Le Beny Bocage nearby. The dining room is clean and modern and furnished to a high standard. The staff were friendly and very helpful and spoke very good English and were very patient with our halting French. The food was of a very high standard even the 17.50 Euro set menu was great even served with Tapenade and croustades to start and an amuse bouche as well as starter, main and desert. Excellent food and service both nights.
Chaque fois que nous visitons cet hôtel en face, nous visitons le restaurant Hôtel de France en raison des normes élevées en matière de nourriture et de service. Vous êtes toujours accueillis à la porte, ce qui est une touche agréable et invitante. La cuisine est toujours bien présentée et servie avec beaucoup de fantaisie, par une serveuse rapide et agréable. L'expérience dans son ensemble, de l'entrée à la sortie, est un crédit à la direction.

Very traditional high quality restaurant. 3 course meal 17.50 euros.Excellent service and value for money. The food presentation and quality is outstanding.English is fluently spoken but they do appreciate it if you try with your French even if it is bad! Went twice and each occasion was superb.We paid more money at a Campanile restaurant where the food was OK but more like a UK Harvester.
Stayed one night on a business trip and found the hotel very welcoming.The room was clean and well maintained but the food blew me away!! The staff were great and the food was fantastic - the breakfast was good and plentiful and was asked several times if everything was OK !!Would recommend without reservation!!
Another excellent lunch here. We have been coming here for years and have never had a poor meal. The presentation is always excellent and the staff friendly and efficient.We will be returning.
We hit on this place on the recommendation of a local in the street. The 17.50€ set menu for a three course evening meal seemed very reasonable and the quality of the food didn't disappoint.
