Wir waren aufgrund eines Seminars zum Mittagessen in dem BelleVue eingefallen. Organisation, Ablauf und auch das zusammengestellte Essen (es gab jeweils ein Fleisch- und ein Fisch-Gericht zur Vorauswahl) waren gut. Die Desserts hatten aber jeweils einen sehr künstlichen Beigeschmack ("aus der Pulverdose" wie ein Kollege bemerkte). Beim Service - wie heutzutage häufig zu beobachten - kommt es sehr auf die gerade anwesende Person an. Teilweise wirkten die Servierdamen und -herren sehr lustlos, teilweise sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossen.Leider besteht das Restaurant im Wesentlichen nur ein einem riesigen Raum, der nur vereinzelt durch sehr niedrige Trennwände "aufgelockert" wird und nahtlos in die Rezeption des Hotels übergeht. Es wirkt dadurch mehr wie in einer Kantinie oder einer Bahnhofshalle und ist nicht wirklich gemütlich - aber für einen schnellen Business-Lunch reicht es.
This hotel is oddly located on top of a downmarket shopping centre. There's no obvious presence at street level; one accesses it via a door to a lift to the 6th floor reception. It seems, in fact, to be two hotels: the somewhat less expensive Hotel Maximilian shares the premises and reception area. Some facilities are shared between the two hotels but others are only available to guests in one or other (for example, bathrobes are available only to guests in Dreilanderbrucke whereas only guests in Maximilian can access blue movies, according to the information booklet in the bedroom). The room and bathroom was large and comfortable. Food was okay: dinner was a buffet and breakfast had a good choice.
We stayed here because we wanted to visit Basel and prices in Switzerland are a bit high. The hotel was super clean and super quiet, even though it's located in a super busy shopping centre. Parking at the shopping centre is for free. There is a tram around the corner that takes you to Basel city centre in about 20 minutes. Totally recommended for anyone that wants to explore the area.
