This was undoubtedly my favorite hotel I have ever stayed at. The hospitality and pride of service that the Fahrner family has, was noticed right away. The food each day was delicious. The restaurant staff all had a great sense of humor and were very helpful in helping us with wine selections. Mr. Fahrner's gin and tonic options are nothing short of spectacular. The hotel shuttle service makes it easy to get to the Gilzig lift in under 5 minutes. Or if you prefer to walk, it only takes about 10 minutes. I would highly recommend Hotel Fahrner to anyone looking to experience the finest of Austrian cuisine and the epitome of hospitality.
Our first night in St. Anton after a very long day of travel we found this wonderful traditional Austrian restaurant. The Hotel Fahrner is in the original farmhouse parlor (date 1787) beautifully furnished. In a small space but very warm, friendly and excellent food. Wanted to try the fondue which looked awesome but no one else wanted it. Instead went with the Caesar salad for starters and then we had the Beef entree, the lamb entree and the Weiner Schnitzel. All were delicious and beautifully presented!! Excellent fine dining in an authentic Austrian setting with wonderful, friendly servers!!!
Beautiful alpine fondue. You can do either meat or cheese. Our four-headed family was offered 1/2 what we did. I would recommend if you 're in a group like our, but if you need to choose, do the cheese fondue (although... if you do this, also order some French pommes as they were excellent, but come with the meat version). Great location and atmosphere and good wine selection (Order Salzl Weine, it is Austrian and excellent). Not in downtown St. Anton. But don't take a taxi, it's a nice walk on the hill from the city.
Nio personer, fondue chinoise: ej ännu tinat tunnskuret kött (fruset), smaklösa kylskåpskalla såser, hyfsad pommes frites. Bristfällig service (sonen var sjuk/bortrest etc). Lite tråkig attityd mot gästerna. Med bättre omsorg mot råvarorna och mer serviceminded attityd kunde det vara hyfsat, med fortfarande överprisat! Réservez une table maintenant
I have dined here twice in 2 weeks. The food is prepared fresh after ordering. Varied menu which will fit every budget. Service is very good and wait stay is always friendly and accommodating. Nice little bar. I recommend it for a nice meal whether...it be lite or a full meal.
