We were staying at the mathematics institute at Oberwolfach and hiked one afternoon from there to this charming restaurant located in the heart of the village of Wolfach. As traveling foodies, we were looking for true local flavors, and found them at this casual place. We dined in their enclosed courtyard accessed through the restaurant lovely little tables with blue and white checked cloths. Our waitress spoke no English but was so friendly and helpful that ordering/paying/using the restrooms/calling a taxi was no problem. we were there on the first Christmas holiday and the only guests in the evening. there was an extra menu for Christmas holidays. the suppe as an appetizer was unfortunately only lukewarm. the main dishes were tastefully unfortunately through the bank away bad and with very high probability not fresh. the sweet was completely boiled and the meat tasted sweet and was extremely tough. the tellers were cleared, although not all were ready to eat and the question whether it tasted also remained out. when we left, the light was turned off completely. that was really the worst eating for a long time, and it was a pity for christmas!
My husband and I had a very nice meal at this restaurant. There was outdoor seating and a biergarten, though we chose to eat indoors, where there is a really fun Black Forest atmosphere. The menu is printed in German and English, though our server (also the hotel receptionist) did not speak very much English but she was friendly and we were able to get by. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. The restaurant specializes in Black Forest fare. My husband's salmon fillet was excellent. I ordered a schnitzel--which was a little tough but had a delicious sauce.
wifi heeft het een dag gedaan en was to defect, men deed niets om dat te verhelpen en wilde router niet resetten, zeer lawaaiig omdat ercies veel dronken volk loopt te schreeuwen, batterijen voor afstandbediening were leeg maar men flinke drank rekening ontvangen en men had per ongeluk 27 euro per per persoon teveel berekend (x14)barjuf stops ineens met serveren zonder laatste rondje, verder traag in afleveren en belabberde service.

ragout de chevreuil, spaetzle maison et pâtes aux girolles. la cuisine est fraiche, gouteuse et toujours en quantité, nous sommes en Allemagne... Malheureusement, l'ambiance inexistante, la déco douteuse et le service mou et déprimant entâchent l'expérience. Bien situé, allez au biergarten à l'arrière de ce restaurant.
The food was good, you can taste traditional Badische cuisine BUT the service is very poor. The lady (probably the owner) working there was very inpolite and speaks no English. No efforts to make us confortable. We won't go there a second time, even if we liked the food.
the service is slow and lustless, as in the hotel to which the restaurant is connected, but the woof soup was very good and the beer as good as a good evening meal. average prices, two suppen, two meat dishes and two big beers 50 €.
