Stayed there for nights and was rather shocked about the size of the hotel. It consists of two buildings. One called Residenz which includes the wellness area and the other main building where you have the reception, the restaurant and the breakfast "hall". Also...the two parking areas are connected to the main building. Better to have a small car, as the parking slots are quite narrow. The friendliness of the staff was somehow irritating. When I talked to the receptionist on the phone she was more than helpful and friendly, but when I was talking to her live I had the impression she behaved as if I disturbed her. Also there was a situation when the female boss was at the reception and they both ignored me waiting there and kept talking as if I didn't exist. This was not professional at all if this woman indeed was the boss, there is indeed some room for better performance. Mister Staggl on the other hand always greeted friendly whenever he was floating around and one had the impression you could always approach him and ask questions. The restaurant was o.k. It was lovely that one could eat a bit later. Also service there was excellent and friendly. The room was big with a small balcony and a lovely bathroom. All really modern. The bed was o.k. The wellness area was nice and offered some possibilities to relax. Big plus! The breakfast was a huge disappointment. On my last day there I met ALL the people from the busses at the same time at the buffet an early morning nightmare. Everyone grabbing his stuff impatiently from the buffet, which was indeed poor. You also had to cook the eggs yourself, which just bowled around in the pot with hard boiling water. Quite annoying. Baseline for myself: Nice wellness area, and nice hotel but better to choose a smaller hotel than this mass processing next time.
This restaurant is my favorite in Imst and around. It serves large groups, families and couples with the same love and passion each restaurant should have. The menu offers a wide selection of appetizers, meat, fish and salad dishes. With every main dish you are...invited to a very tasty salad bar, which is another reason to go to this restaurant. My personal favorite is the 'Grillteller', a mix grill of nice pieces of meat (chicken, pork and beef) served with fries. But don't hesitate to go for the Schnitzel, Cordon Bleu, Sander Filet or any of many choices of steaks. Should you still have some room for dessert, Zum Hirschen has an excellent ice cream card, but also chocolate cake or apple beignets. Guten Appetit!
We were staying in one of the hotels apartments and we went one evening to the hotel for dinner. We sat in a lovely typically Austrian restaurant and decided on the meal of the day. All our party thought it was tasty and well presented....We started with a varied salad bar and then had steak in peppercorn sauce. The steaks were tender and cooked exactly how we asked for them to be done. A great meal at a good price of euros.
On our recent skiing trip we were searching for a place which would serve us Kaiserschmarrn. It is a tradition dessert, shredded pancake, that was recommended by a friend. And Hotel Gasthof Zum Hirschen had it on the menu. It was delicious and made specially...for us that evening. I can also recommend the smoked trout. In my opinion it is probably one of the best places to stay and eat in Imst.
