Schmeckt super und satt wird man auch (das ist ja heutzutage nicht mehr überall der Fall).Klassische, deutsche (bzw. badische) Küche, die sich vor niemandem zu verstecken braucht!Der Hirsch liegt im kleinen Teilort Hilsbach, der zu Sinsheim gehört - ca. 10 km Entfernung zur Stadt selbst. Man kommt aber schnell zur Autobahn A6, zum Stadion von TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (Fußball: 1.Bundesliga!), dem Auto- und Technik-Museum, der Badewelt oder anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten rund um die Region. Pour bien manger, mieux vaut comprendre la carte, écrite en allemand et en rien d'autre. On finit par décrypter qu'il a du cochon au menu, du bœuf et de la dinde, plus quelques spécialités souabes et deux plats du jour. Nous tentâmes un peu au hasard un Schnitzel farci et une Maultaschen au beurre (cuisine souabe), accompagnés d'une "petite" salade plutôt copieuse. Les deux étaient très bons et la Maultaschen inconnue fort délicieuse. Le tout arrosé de bière pression qui se buvait toute seule. Un repas de bonne qualité qui nous a bien plu.
While the ambiance tries to find its place between traditional German "Gemuetlichkeit" and modern neutrality the kitchen struggles and fails to impress. During last year's visit we were told that the chef sources the meat on the menu (rump steak, filet) from METRO (Argentina), we felt on this recent visit that this is hardly the case anymore. The meat was dry and over cooked, the salad tasteless, the potato croquettes from the freezer bag and a gravy from the can. Too bad. This could be a true restaurant gem. It isn't. Not recommended.
We stumbled across this, what looked like a weird pub, by accident. We asked do you serve food as there was only the barman and one drinker around, and he said yes. We were obviously English and immediately started trying to help translate everything on the menu. He did an excellent job and we had a very nice meal with some things that weren't even on the menu as he improvised to help one of my colleagues. The price was very reasonable for the meal we had. If you are around this area i would highly recommend a visit.

Nous avons dîné à cet endroit par défaut, parce que nous avions une chambre à l'hôtel attenant. Choix limité dans les plats, mais très copieux et de qualité. Nous recommandons les spätzele (spécialité souabe) en accompagnement du plat principal. Au total un repas qui ne m'a pas laissé un souvenir inoubliable, mais qui avait le mérite d'être roboratif.
Umfangreiche vielseitige Karte bietet etwas für jeden Geschmack. Gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Die meisten Gerichte gibt es auch als preiswerte Kinder- bzw. Seniorenportion. Netter Service. Bei gutem Wetter kann man auf der überdachten Terrasse essen.
The wild boar roast was very tasty and beautifully dressed. The semmelknödel probably also made itself. Service, service, extremely nice and friendly! The ambience for my taste somewhat too bright but modern.
War jetzt schon das 2. mal da und jedes mal zufrieden. Bestellung geht schnell und das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Essen war beide mal super! Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen.
