The Anker underwent a renovation a while ago but we hadn’t eaten there since. Thus it was a very pleasant surprise to sit in the clean, bright room and be tempted by so many local specialties that we didn’t know where to start. I have recently visited anker with friends. what a beautiful place. the decoration is classic Swiss. the waiting staff was helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. the menu is diverse and since I tried, sacredness had several vegetarian decisions. I had a...fantastic suppe, followed by a local fish dish. the food was tasteful and beautifully prepared. the prices were high, but switerland is an expensive country. reservations are a must, unless they want to sit on the bar.

Somehow got lost in Teufen and ended up in the Anker. Very nice location with a typical local touch. We very much enjoyed the good wine list. Service was outstanding. So many friednly people who really want to serve you and make a good job....Food was also good. Liked the Siedwurst and Spätzli. Except the gordon blue was not, how it should be. But I'm sure we will be back one day.
I have been in the Hotel Restaurant Anker a couple of times and i has always been an amazing surpirse for my mouth. It is hard to get simplicity perfect and the Anker does just this. The dining room is plain and simple but very, very chic all at the same time. Angela handles the dining room with grace and precision. And the food is delish! The flavors...are clean and clear. My fish was cooked to perfection and the accompaniments were too. No soggy vegetables here.

the design of the renovated restaurant is amazing and authentic. also the service is appenzell charme. eating is unfortunately for an above average price below average. The Gordon-Bleu is a catastrophe: hard, small, inedible I tried several times, and I still disappointed. the kitchen.
