We booked this hotel months ago as part of a long distance cycling holiday.we arrived tired and wet to be greeted in the most friendly manner of anywhere we have stayed.the wet bikes were greeted with as much enthusiasm into a secure room within the hotel.having showered and rested,we decided to eat in the restaurant.truly amazing.....the food, fresh asparagus and smoked salmon with boiled potatoes was preceeded by a huge terrine of minestrone soup "on the house".it was faultless, from start to finish.very friendly.breakfast had ample to choose from, ham, cheese, yoghurt, bread, and then we were presented with a lovely omelette on a silver dish, completely unexpected.on leaving, the owner even offere...

This was the second time to visit. This is a small Hotel - Restaurant a few store fronts up from the central plaza. It is clear and inviting. The staff greets you with a friendly smile. We ordered the white asparagus (spargel) with the rumpsteak and Hollandaise sauce. To start, we were serve a terrine of noodle soup. Then a generous portion of white asparagus and rumpsteak. Boiled potatoes and Hollandaise sauce on the side.A couple of glasses of the local white wine and you are set.Delicious food in a familiar and comfortable environment. And the price is extremely reasonable. Worth the stop especially if you are budget minded.

We visited here for lunch. The atmosphere is more like visiting a friend's house than a restaurant. The staff makes you feel very welcome. This was April in the middle of the white asparagus (spargel) season. We ordered the spargel with rumpsteak. What we didn't know was we also got a large bowl of asparagus soup. We each enjoyed two large bowls of soup. Then our spargel and rumpsteak which also included french fries. A very large portion. Glasses of local white wine and water, and we were set.You get a great meal, friendly service, huge portions and a very reasonable price. Amazing.

We had a good, thorough meal here: fried trout and rump steak, both with sufficient French fries or boiled potatoes and unlimited salad buffet. We even could have got a free beef bouillon soup, before. The wine was delicious and not expensive at all: €10,- for a bottle! The food is not fashionable or trendy, but very good local food. This restaurant serves good sized portions of real German food at its best. We went there for dinner and the mood of this restaurant is very friendly. Nice staff and fast service. It's not many times I give a resturante 4 stars but the germania is worth it. Thanks Sven and family for making our dinner a good one.
