"Nothing wrong with the meal, just nothing special. The service is lackluster but because they are busy not unfriendly. Most of the diners are hotel guests so that changes the atmosphere."

When my wife told me that we were booked here to stay and eat I thought, eating at a Thalasso hotel, this is going to be pour 'dietish' food and very expensiveI was wrongWe arrived saturday evening, six of us.DinnerThe menu had some lovely choices including some good wines and surprisingly the prices were far better than I expected, even the wines were not over priced.I started my meal with a dozen oysters, followed my mussels, being at the seaside, I thought might as well eat some fish for a changeBoth the oysters and the mussels were very good, I finished my meal with a macaroon, this was the only part of the two day that I could criticise, being a frozen macaroon (I'm pretty sure that it...

First impressions, as you drive up to the hotel, are not favourable. Architecturally think Motorway Travel Lodge. Having said that once you walk inside you are in a different world. This is a smart hotel that specialises in impeccable service from the moment you enter the dining room until you leave. Like many travellers on the nearby ferry service to Portsmouth we arrived after a long drive. The location was excellent both for access to the ferry terminal and also if you want a walk on the beach before dining. The staff were efficient and charming. The maitre d’ and many of the waiting team speak impeccable English. After a long drive one should hesitate before being overly critical of the b...

This restaurant serves patrons of the Thalazur spa and reflects the healing atmosphere and ambience of the sea that fringes the complex. It is open to the general public, but the ambience is one of restfulness and wholesomeness, as befits the purposes of the spa. Some visitors may find this a bit disconcerting at first, but the service is charming and skilful. A three course meal for two costs about Euro 100, and represents excellent value for money. Drinks are extra but are not overpriced. The restaurant caters discretely and cheerfully for children and babies. My wife and I would cheerfully drive 80 km for a meal here. Although we've only dined there twice in two years we were remembered an...

Avoid the Thursday buffet - lukewarm, tasteless fish and the hot food is not replenished quickly enough so runs out or goes to cotton wool. Staff inattentive - not clearing plates or tables so that the best window tables remain empty and you have to sit over in the corner away from the view. Seafood is OK but not as fresh as it could be. Good selection of desserts and cheese. If booking ask for a window table.
