We are so glad we stayed here in this little town and hotel rather than right in Salzburg. The hotel is 700 years old. There is a lot of history here and it is a family business that has been going for 500 years. The hotel has been refurbished and it is well done. There is a lift which is a bonus for travellers who may need it as there are 3 floors. The hotel restaurant has a lovely beer garden as well and the food is fresh, tasty and not expensive. The complimentary breakfast is also very good. The huge bonus is that the bus to Salzburg is virtually outside the hotel and runs hourly from 0600 till 11pm at night. This is great as it beats driving the car in and also trying to find parking in Salzburg. There are a couple of restaurants close by and we did try another one as well which was also good. There is a cafe, a couple of banks, a little supermarket up the road and a fantastic delicatessan just opposite hotel Voetterl.Negatives: our room had a bath with shower but no shower curtain or screen which I was not used to so had to get used to that. We mentioned this to Veronika (manager) who said that they are in the process of fixing this as they have already put in new showers screens in many of the rooms. It would have been good to make a cup of coffee in our room but it wasn't too bad. Positives: Veronika contacted us promptly after booking to check when we would arrive in case reception was closed. They have a great system where they have a safe outside which you access with a code to get your keys after hours. But we got there early enough and Veronika checked us in with a lovely smile and was very helpful with informing us about everything. All the other staff were also very friendly, courteous and efficient.I would definetly recommend this hotel.
