Because of the positive reviews and good rating we chose for this restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was not that good. As a first dish we ordered the onion soup. The bread with the melted cheese was delicious. The soup itself was not so tasty. As...a second I ordered some special schnitzel with onions and mushrooms on top of it. Here it went fully wrong; there was no taste in the onions and the mushrooms. Were they cooked in water? Were the mushrooms from a can? We asked them to recommend a dry white wine. The wine seemed semi-sweet and it was not served cold enough. Definitely, not a wine of quality. In conclusion, the offered meal was unfortunately well below our expectations.
The day before our trip to Saarburg we were strolling thru TripAdvisor reviews in search of a decent place to have a lunch-if-we-will-wake-up-early-enough or a dinner-if-we-sleep-thru-all-the-alarms and have unanimously decided to give this place a try. Ah, what an excellent choice it turned out to...be! Eventually it gone the dinner way and we took a table alongside the waterfall. The view was great, the staff was friendly and the food was yummi. The onion soup was excellent [example of a creamed variety] , the schnitzel was pretty tasty, the beef in pfeffersauce was delicious. Sampled some riesling as well. Highly recommend.
We went to this restaurant because of the good reviews on TripAdvisor. And we were really pleased by this place. The waiters are very friendly and hospitable. The food we ordered was delicious and served fast enough. There were no need to wait for waiters...when we needed something. I didn't meet here the thing which annoys me in other places: when you ask for a bill and wait another or minutes here it was everything fast and very politely. I definitely recommend this place and will visit it more times in case if we bring our friends with us.
this is a typical German guest house in a century building. beautiful location in a beautiful city near the Saar River and the waterfall. they can have forel “müllerin art” that is difficult to get elsewhere. if they ask for a glass riesling, they keep at least ml. moderate prices. may recommend.

I was looking for a good place to eat. we, where not disappointed. a very friendly waiter and friendly cook created a beautiful meal with antipasti front and carving and flame cake as main course. even the whispers where delicious. keep the good work!
good Italian cuisine for fair money. also typical German carving food. prices fair. inside and also beautiful outside terrace next to the “small Venice” leuk flow, which runs through the village with a small fall. service friendly. recommended.
We had a meal with family and fried. Not a very big portion for German norms but enough. Don’t look for a big smile but polite. Nice terras next to the water.
warm reception, friendly staff/host. Amazing breakfast, food aswell as service. Expected noisy location, but at night very quiet and good beds and rooms.

we went into the restaurant minutes before the due hour and we said that they no longer serve. the kocher was very rude and we had to go.
Great place to visit with friends and have dinner and enjoy the area.Service is good and staff helpful.
