I write this with heavy heart as the cafe has long been our ‘go to’ place for lunch or coffee and scones/cake. Lunch dropped off the agenda some time ago , as I have not been impressed with the rarely changing menu.I did try the Art Lovers salad a few weeks back when a friend was keen to have lunch there but it was really poor.Fairly tasteless dressing and two big, muckle lumps of chicken dumped on top . Not chargrilled in nice sliced pieces but cooked and served as if someone really couldn’t be bothered. There were also two big chunks of avocado..again, poorly presented. I had long thought the scones here were amongst the very best(being a scone aficionado But on the last two visits for tea...

I have visited several times before and enjoyed the service and the food, however we were very disappointed with the service and the food. A charming lady showed us to a table. A rather glum waitress then took our drinks order. We waited over 30 minutes for two salads. The avocados tasted like they had been immersed in a vinegar type dressing. The poached egg had no yolk, a tiny amount of yellow liquid on the plate was all that remained of it. My husbands salad was not much better. A very cheery waitress passed by the table several times, but unfortunately we were served by the glum girl. We didn’t wait for coffee. Such a pity, it used to be so good.

Overall the experience was satisfactory. The service was good but the prices are just totally out of touch for the postcode. While I appreciate the surroundings are beautiful the actual cafe itself feels just like that a cafe. I wouldn't say it is particularly special. It is in the middle of Bellahouston Park closeby to some of the most deprived areas of Glasgow. These prices make it cost prohibitive for a family to enjoy a day at the park and stop for a bite to eat. The menu was limited, and overpriced. The portions were also a little mean. If you take a walk further down the road Bella Vita, Bella Fresca and Rawlings are all better value for money.

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with 40 family and friends in The View which is on the top floor with a terrace looking over Bellahouston Park. It has a lovely warm atmosphere and the lunch was delicious. The staff were very attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The additional sitting room off the main room allowed everyone to mingle after the meal. Niamh O’Donnell, the events coordinator patiently guided us through the build up to the day for which we were very grateful. We would unhesitatingly recommend the House for an Art Lover.

Oh this was excellent. Went before visiting the house on a wet Sunday lunchtime. No problem getting a table for 3. Food and drinks menus were well thought through with options for light lunch or something more substantial. We opted for sourdough open sandwiches. Fresh, nicely presented. Apple crumble tart wasn’t the best but nice idea. Service was super. Friendly, attentive and welcoming. All in all just what we wanted. Hit the spot.

I recently booked afternoon tea for 5 of my family to celebrate my mum's belated birthday and we all really enjoyed it. The sandwiches and cakes were lovely and a generous amount. I'm vegetarian and they catered perfectly for this. The decor inside was really nice and I couldn't fault our visit at all. The online booking process was very easy and I received confirmation.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. 2 ciabatta with cheese and tomato, still looking for the cheese and the tomato was supposed to be marinated, which did not taste of anything. It was extremely dry. My daughter had the smoked salmon baguel which was dry and lacked filling also. Service was ok, though reasonably cheery staff.

Came here again (I am a creature of habit on my rare visits to the Southside) and the service, coffee and food were great. It was busyish and the coffee could have been a little quicker but I'm just nit picking...great parking and free. The staff are always really pleasant and helpful.

Afternoon Catch Up with with girls. Lovely afternoon tea. Fresh cut sandwiches and pastries, followed by mini scones and then a lovely selection of cakes. Service was good and surrounds clean and fresh. As always a lovely visit.
