good Christmas menu. this was my third visit to the art lovers' cafe and the first two visits were disappointing. yesterday I had a Christmas dinner with 19 colleagues there and what can I say it was great! in view of the big party and how busy the restaurant was I expected a laborious meal. not impressed. the art lovers' try very hard, but really does not deliver. my appetizer from kartoffel and arbroath Smokie-Terrine with egg and salat was quite openly terrible. the salat had no dressing, the terrine was directly from the refrigerator and full bone and the warm egg had no spice. the main side of the black bell, skalopps, erbsenpüre, maische war nice, can not fail. that desserts the earthy roulade was a flop, hardly a filling to the roulade. the creation should be inspiring, but with plastic chairs, cheap serviettes and personally inspiring artworks on the wall made it flat. will not be back.

a must have the lover of charles rennie mackintosh, the house for an art lover in bellahouston park was designed for an international competition in 1901 and was faithfully restored in 1996. there is a very fine suite of the first floor with a super café/restaurant on the ground floor. worth visiting is just a 15-minute bus ride from central glasgow on the route.

A beautiful setting for a quick coffee and the homemade sausage rolls are delicious.
